I have this condition where instead of never being able to redesign my portfolio, I literally cannot stop redesigning it? Ended up way down memory lane for past personal sites today — feeling a type of way, indeed. Pictured: V0.1 (2016-2017), V0.2 (2018)

V1 — A couple of failed attempts to write a bunch of content made me antsy to just ship something new and functional, so last year in my hotel room before walking over to Awwwards Conf sessions, I coded this bad boy out.

V2 — As soon as I shipped v1 I was dissatisfied with how simple it was, & how it didn't really showcase any of my JavaScript ability (the distortion effect was pure CSS and SVG filter primitives). Thus, v2. NuxtJS and ThreeJS for some cool interactive 3D radness.

V3 — Again, immediately dissatisfied. I wanted to ship something that felt more like a website than a tech demo, with more content & a blog. First time I was like very, very proud of the personal site & felt like it showcased my ability accurately. henry.codes

V4 — Anyway the point of this thread is that yes I'm designing my stuff again, like that'll somehow trick me into writing more blog posts (and catching up on case studies).

Aight fuck it, portfolio mega-thread. I love personal sites so much, the constraints and interpreting folks' personal brands is always delightful. Here are some recent ones I've done for the homies!
