You're right — and it feels wrong to allow incrementalist ideas no quarter in other realms of policy and be fine with a half-baked or even quarter-baked vision of a real American train system.

I'm excited by the idea of ~more trains~ or train-centric infra but it resonates with me that this isn't the right path to that dream.
